Kings Oak Primary joins Waterton Academy Trust

We’re excited to announce that Kings Oak Primary (KOP) officially joined Waterton Academy Trust on 1st September. This is a fantastic milestone as our trust continues to grow and strengthen. Based in Barnsley, and led by Co-Headteachers Julie and Alison,  Kings Oak Primary becomes the latest addition to our ever-expanding family of schools, and we are delighted to welcome their pupils, staff, and wider community.

Our mission, “Where success is a shared experience”, underpins everything we do. We believe that achievements are best celebrated together. Every pupil, teacher, and member of staff contributes to our collective success, and we all benefit from each other’s strengths.

By joining Waterton, Kings Oak Primary becomes part of a collaborative and supportive network where everyone feels valued and motivated. This shared approach enables us to create thriving environments where children can flourish and where staff are empowered to deliver the very best for their communities.

Alison, one of the Co-Headteachers at Kings Oak shared her excitement about the school’s new chapter:

“I am so excited to be working with Waterton and look forward to the new opportunities and challenges that together we will face. School leadership is probably one of the hardest jobs and can be very insular and isolated, but working collaboratively, openly and honestly has always been at the forefront of everything I do.”

Alison went on to reflect on both the challenges and the opportunities ahead:

“Even though there are some tough challenges ahead I believe working together will enable us to continue to strive for excellence. By joining the Trust, I want to ensure a sustainable and fantastic future for all stakeholders at Kings Oak. I cannot wait to learn from colleagues, reflect and review, and share all our brilliant practice and ideas for improvement.”

Please join us in giving a warm Waterton welcome to everyone at Kings Oak Primary! We look forward to working together, celebrating achievements, and continuing our journey of collective growth and excellence.
