West End Academy Celebrates Outstanding Ofsted Achievements

West End Academy has recently been celebrated in a glowing Ofsted report, following an inspection on November 26 and 27, 2024. The report highlights the incredible strides the school has made since its last review, with inspectors noting significant improvements across the board.

Headteacher Chris Johnson, has led the school to new heights since the last inspection in July 2019. Ofsted praised the ambitious curriculum, exceptional teaching, and the school’s commitment to ensuring all pupils – including those with special educational needs and from disadvantaged backgrounds – achieve their full potential.

The report paints a picture of a school where children feel safe, happy, and inspired to succeed. From exploring exciting topics in class to taking part in extracurricular activities like choir and sports, pupils have countless opportunities to grow. Leadership roles, such as reading ambassadors and well-being champions, encourage children to take responsibility and make a positive impact on their peers. As one reading ambassador said, “We spread the magic of reading throughout school.”

West End Academy also stands out for its dedication to preparing pupils for life beyond the classroom. Through lessons on diversity, tolerance, and global citizenship, children learn to appreciate different cultures and understand their role in shaping a better world.

The report praises the work that has taken place to promote good attendance and the school’s approach to safeguarding is described as exemplary. Inspectors highlighted the open and positive culture that prioritizes the welfare of pupils above all else. The trust’s support has contributed to ensuring that staff well-being is a top priority, creating a positive and productive atmosphere for everyone.

West End Academy is excited about its next graded inspection and determined to keep building on this success. Congratulations to the West End Academy team for this fantastic result of their hard work and dedication!
