Celebrating Collaboration Across Our Trust

At Waterton Academy Trust, collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, and our subject networks are a fantastic example of how working together can transform teaching and learning for our children. Our vision is to make success a shared experience—for every child, every teacher, and every school. These networks, whether through in-person meetings or our Professional Learning Networks on Teams, are key spaces where teachers and leaders come together to share ideas, research, resources, and best practices.

Our subject networks—ranging from Science to Maths, Early Years to Ed Tech, and Assessment, to name a few—are driving innovation, reflection, and improvement across the trust. They are vital platforms for refining practice and contributing to the shared success of all our pupils. Teachers are already seeing the positive impact of these networks, with new strategies and ideas making a real difference in classrooms.

None of this would be possible without the dedication of the leaders who go above and beyond their day jobs to plan, facilitate, and drive these networks forward. To everyone involved—thank you! Your commitment is making a real difference for your colleagues and, most importantly, for the children we serve.

The networks are a fantastic way to share successful practice amongst our peers and help us learn from shared experiences. They’ve helped me reflect on why I’ve chosen specific artists and expanded my subject knowledge.”  Network Participant

These meetings are so important and something I actually look forward to. We learn from each other in a supportive environment, and I always leave with plenty to share back at school.”  Network Participant

The networks allow colleagues to come together, support each other, and build on professional relationships, which in turn leads to schools making links with each other to offer support.”  Network Participant
