Celebrating our Student Teachers
This term we celebrated our student teachers who completed their two weeks of ITAP’s (Intensive Training and Practice). Working with colleagues within Waterton schools and across the trust, as well as with our partnership university, Leeds Trinity. The initial focus was on understanding how expert teachers structure planning to maximise learning and included a study of Rosenshines Principles of Instruction. Following a week of teaching, feedback and reflection the study culminated in a presentation to a ‘critical panel’ to share their learning. It was evident just how much our student teachers developed during this time. A huge ‘congratulations’ to our twelve strong cohort for all their successes. We know you are excited to transfer this to your teaching now.
