Hammer Lane Official Opening
Today we were delighted for Councillor Isherwood to officially open Hammer Lane Academy, our second Independent Special School, in Wakefield. Developed in partnership with Wakefield LA, this marks our first venture into specialist provision within the area.
Hammer Lane currently offers EYFS and KS1 provision for children with communication and interaction needs. We have welcomed 20 pupils so far, with numbers expected to grow to 30 over the year. Demand for places is already exceptionally high, reflecting the need for this type of provision.
We are also pleased to welcome a number of new colleagues to the Trust who have joined the Hammer Lane team. They bring enthusiasm, expertise, and a child-centred approach that underpins everything they do.
As our children settle into their new school, we would be delighted to invite Headteachers and colleagues from across the Trust to visit Hammer Lane and see the provision in action.
